Learn Grooming
The Jazzy Pawz Apprenticeship Program is a WIOA-registered training program approved by the U.S. Department of Labor and listed on Georgia’s Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL).
This 80-week program combines classroom instruction and on-the-job training to prepare future pet care professionals for long-term, high-demand careers in the grooming industry. Apprentices learn every aspect of dog grooming, wellness, and safety under the direct mentorship of Andrea Jenkins, founder of Jazzy Pawz by Andrea.
Program Overview:
Duration: Approx. 80 weeks
Curriculum Hours: 288 Classroom Hours
On-the-Job Training: 3,750 Hours
Credential Earned: U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Certificate, Jazzy Pawz Pet Styling Certification, and Pet CPR & First Aid Certification
Occupation Title: Dog Groomer / Animal Caretaker
Active Apprentices: 2 (capacity expanding)

Entry Requirements: High School Diploma or GED; Ability to lift 50lbs; Basic reading, math, and communication skills (8th grade level or higher)
What You’ll Learn:
Grooming Foundations: Bathing, drying, brushing, coat prep
Styling Techniques: Scissoring, clipper work, breed-specific cuts
Pet Wellness: Skin and coat care, health observation, first aid
Client Care: Communication, scheduling, customer experience
Salon Operations: Safety, sanitation, workflow management
Business Readiness: Entrepreneurship, marketing, professionalism

Graduates of the Jazzy Pawz Apprenticeship Program are prepared for roles such as:
Professional Dog Groomer
Pet Stylist or Salon Owner
Pet Spa Assistant or Bather
Many graduates continue to work within the Jazzy Pawz Pet Care Suites network or open their own grooming studios.
